‘Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood’ offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look into the intense subculture of the competitive music and marching activity known as drum and bugle corps. Each winter, tens of thousands of high school and college aged men and women vie for one of the open positions available within the elite corps located throughout the United States and the rest of the world. With the offer of a contract, these performers are given the singular opportunity to spend the next nine months of their lives within a world that requires countless hours of rehearsal, physical endurance that would test a professional athlete, and the necessity to adapt to nearly any obstacle that can befall a large group of entertainers living on the road and out of their suitcases. The reward for these members is simple: a shot at perfection come the Drum Corps International Championship in August.
